About 3 years ago

i once was young
and now i am old
but i still don’t have
any stories untold

i once didn’t mind
if my clothes didn’t match
and i would eat cookies
batch after batch

but now i cannot
for i strive to be beautiful
spending hours on my hair
manicuring each cuticle

i miss the days
where i could scream and play
now i just try
to survive each day
