Thunder Bay - Daunis

In the past few days there has been a massive wildfire blazing across northern Ontario, and it has hit a lot of Native reserves, causing displacement and loss of homes. The fire has been so bad that Toronto had the worst air quality out of all major cities globally. This skin is a tribute to those who have been affected by this terrible wildfire, as well as the firefighters working hard to stop our forests from burning.

Daunis means "daughter" and comes from Anishinaabe origin. From birth, Daunis has had a special connection with nature. Her caring, nurturing personality has steered her towards environmental volunteering and advocating. Outside of her work, she spends time hiking and reconnecting with nature.
