"It seems my capture of the warpmetal geode has become known to the city guardian entities. Most exit tunnels from my undergound camp had been completely filled with razer sharp wires. Upon trying to cut through them with an iron sword, I found it was my sword that ended up getting cut instead! The culprit was the entity I have illustrated above, which uses the largest warped shard of all guardians to produce sharp strands of 'gloomsilk'. I'm not sure if this is the same navy-purple material used in the armour of the other guardians, but it's far more durable than any leather or wool textile I could produce."

"Once back at the surface, I met up with one of the traders at the village and managed to learn a bit more about my mystery metalsmiths from the nether, and I'm thrilled to learn they do indeed exist! He showed me an ingot of a strange black metal he simply referred to as 'netherite', which is apparently this race's specialty. He didn't say much about what they are like, but if anybody can help me turn this warpmetal into something useful, it has to be them. Just saw the skindex notif in my emails, I'm glad to hear you enjoy my skin and lore! It's crazy to see it's been about a year since I made this one, time really does fly.

I never got around to finishing my little storyline or all the skins I had in mind, life unfortunately has a habit of catching up with us, but hopefully I'll come back before long and start designing more again

ok but one of my theorys about the "portal" is that we arent meant to go to them, they are meant to come to us. also ty for the permission to do the book thing! im gonna make my own lore about a shadowy
forest called the Narolyx forest, just a little spoiler! Also are you gonna do the nether skins, or are ya gonnna keep doing the sculk?
Nether comes next, sculk resumes later. I too believe the builder race is never meant to cross through the ancient portals

this is great lore. love the skins too! I bet u could make a whole story about you and your research on the ancient cities and sculk. Also a skin that you should make is like a king or monarch, or boss, or some extremely strong character. again, love the skins! Also is it ok if i make a google doc with all the entries/lore?
Many thanks for the compliments. Absolutely fine to make a doc if you wish, you can even download the mesh for each skin and include them alongside each entry if desired.

Regarding sculk royalty, it's a possibility I have absolutely been playing with. I'm trying not to make the narrative too outlandish for vanilla MC, the primary reason I've included a "new" material is because we don't know what the turquoise material used to make the end portal frames is yet (a little spoiler there lol). Using this and considering the ancient cities clearly have a connection to other dimensions via their massive portal, plus overworld sculk being particularly concentrated around these portals, it makes alot of sense to me that it has leaked out of wherever the city inhabitants came from

It's a very interesting and descriptive explorer's nature journal, really invested in the story right now.
For me personally, one of the most enjoyable lore experiences I've had was reading through the Ark survival evolved explorer notes. Something about the characters living through it rather than just being stories presented by NPC's really appeals to me, and it's tried to create a similar feel here
