"Of all entities I've come across on my travels, few have struck me with more awe (and fear) than this being. Unlike its relative guardians that rely on armour or bone to protect themselves, this being uses modified antennae, radiating across it's body from a cavity in its back, as a form of defense. They even reach to the front of the entity and form the ribcage around its core! And boy, does it put that core to good use. This being makes use of some kind of sonic attack, blasting sound waves of incredible power from it's warped shard at any assailant that dares trespass onto city grounds. Not even walls can save one from this audio assault."

"My search for shards has finally been rewarded as well! While looking for amethyst, I stumbled across a much more unusual geode full of the unmistakable turquoise gems. Regrettably, the strength required to turn them into anything useful is far beyond my capabilities. However, I have heard rumours from wandering traders of a race of master metalsmiths in the Nether. I have not ventured much into this allegedly hostile dimension, but I will walk as far as my research takes me; even if the answer lies behind a ring of obsidian."

The fact that this was made a year ago makes me nostalgic.
I think a good factor for imagining what Nether inhabitants would look like may be asking a simple question: What do most of them look like, and what do the structures in the Nether look like? I consider that an interesting factor for design making.
Absolutely right. Long before even 1.16, mushrooms have been a regular occurrence throughout the nether and are ever more present with the warped and crimson forests. To me it makes sense to use them as a reference for possible past inhabitants, hence the "Sporesinger" idea
Fan made behavior: The sculk earsplitter thrives in the ancient city (obviously), but it does more than just attack and chase you. it screeches loudly, alerting sculk sensors and the warden, so if your not careful it can summon a warden too.
In the fan made timeline this entity comes from, the warden is completely seperate, as are the sensors and shriekers. If anything, they are (or will be) opposing forces, as I'm envisioning the game long before its current setting when the underground cities weren't ruined

Glad you like it mate. The Threadripper will be the last of this race I do for a while, the nether stuff comes next but I don't really have them properly designed in my head yet. Will give me time to think up more designs for the city inhabitants that come later

Your lorewriting and skin-making is seriously on-point though, I'm excited for the next release of whatever you're coming up with next.
