Sludglet

Deep in the swamps, the corpses of zombies were suddenly parasitized by slimes. The creatures that came out of it had varying levels of hostility thanks to the consumption of a rotten but somehow still functioning brain giving sentient thought when it was absorbed. They wandered across the land, and some even went to villages and integrated themselves into society. However, the ones that weren't friendly often stayed in forests or caves, and had the ability to summon slimes when it was damaged, although they were small. These creatures were given an opportunity when they got their self-awareness: Either choose your own path and find a purpose that they truly feel like serving, or stay like the same monster they were hopping around in those humid, dreary swamps.
