''Without a doubt,'' She answered excitedly

They were going to enter the Carnival of Spirits.
Clover slowly put down the earplug. The Carnival. Here. In Canada. Canada? As in, the really-cold-weather maple-syrup Canada?
''The long-anticipated Carnival of Spir*sshhshsh* in Ottawa this ye*shshhhshshd*right, folks, its in Canad*hhshshshsshshhs*tay tuned for more!'' The music played again, and someone else started droning on about snow and centimeters.
There was a bit of music, then: ''Good afternoon everyone, this is Chuck Reynolds and heres whats making news.''
She switched between the channels, some only static noise, others music. Then, the static cleared, and Clover strained to hear what was being said.
In the corner was usually a radio. They seldom used it because the antenna had to be poking outside. But today, it was eagerly clutched in Eles hands. She fiddled with the knob on the side and handed him an earplug. He inserted it, and she said, Listen!
The door opened for him and he eased into their hideout. It was a bit small and not all that comfortable but they still didnt mind it. The basin that the water fell into made the ceiling curved. At the edge was a small lightbulb. They had little snacks - a crumpled bag of chips, a few juice boxes - and a few blankets - sometimes they camped out there.
