I saw a bird the other day
He looked pretty blue
I came to see him in dismay
And asked "How do you do?"

He looked at me with sharp eyes
And spit in my face
I turned to say my goodbyes
But he bit my shoelace

I turned to look at him
He opened his eyes wide
He started to sing me a hymn
In his eyes I saw me inside

He was the prophet for what would come
And so I watched back with glee
As I followed this bird, struck dumb

He took me to a place that I have not seen in years
