... My eyes shot open at the sound of a gun shot. I quickly sat up and gathered my things. I slung my bag around my shoulder and stood up. I looked around til I saw a heavily armored man with a gun walking towards me. I ran towards a building and out of the man's view. I looked through my bag and grabbed the pistol. I waited there silently for a minute of two. I stood up and walked out around the corner of the building..

... 'My mother sat at the edge of my bed reading me a book. I laid in bed watching my mother read. She was on the last page of the book when my father walked into the room. He put a hand on mother's shoulder and whispered something in her ear. Mother nodded to him and turned around to look at me, "Aurelia, your father and I are going to be gone for a few hours tomorrow. Do you think you'll be okay here by yourself?" I nodded and smiled. She kissed me on the forehead and walked out of the room. My father walked up next to me, knelt down, and put a hand on my head. He smiled, "You've grown up so fast, Aurelia. Your a brave young girl now. Promise me that with what ever happens, you'll stay brave." I sat up, "I promise." He gave me and hug than walked out of the room and closed the door. I laid back down on my pillow, hugged my rabbit, and closed my eyes'...

I sat on a broken down bench, about 3 miles away from the safe house. My feet are in so much pain. I dont know why I want to find my father. I dont think that I will find him. I might die trying. But all I really needed to know was that my father was okay. I stared at the setting sun. Another end to a terrible day. I picked up my rabbit and laid down on the bench. I didnt have a blanket to keep me warm. I didnt have a mother to help me get to sleep. But at least I was closer to my father...
