I quietly opened the door to see my mom at the oven. She was looking around nervously. "Qyilaea should be back by now," she murmured. I felt bad about running away, but I had to. I sneaked past her and into the garage. I then grabbed a crate and stealthily tiptoed out the back door, meeting Rivershadow in the shelter of a tall pine. I dashed to the car and hopped in, Rivershadow following me. I drove onto the road as silently as I could and we were off… NEXT CHAPTER
Rivershadow grinned that mysterious smile of hers and morphed into a large German Shepard. "Perfect!"I exclaimed. "Let's go to the airport! Are you going to be okay in your crate?" "Ye-"she started to reply, but I was already running toward my house.
"What now?"I asked. "We must find Lightness,"Rivershadow answered. "But how?" I said desperately. "I have sensed a powerful aura of Light in Minnesota,"Rivershadow said. "Okay!"I replied. "Let' go there! But I don't think people would take a 17 year old girl with a gigantic black wolf by her side lightly."
"But Gaea is evil!"I managed to say. All demigods knew that! Rivershadow smiled kindly. "This Earth is not Gaea,"she said. "It is was Earth should have been." "Okay,"I said calmly, trying to get everything into place. I was Darkness, Rivershadow was Shadow…but who was Lightness, and Earth, and Sky, and Blood, and Forest? I guessed I would find out, and I quickly put that aside. I didn't know why I had to do this, but it was my duty.
"I was sent here to protect and help you." "Wha…What??"I fumbled for words. "You are part of a prophecy, young demigod,"Rivershadow's words filled my head with confusion. "I-don't understand!"I stuttered, shaking my head and getting my long, brown curls in my face. "In the dark of dusk, the Shadow will tell Darkness; Darkness and Lightness will rise together, then earth, then sky, then blood, then the forest," she answered. I gasped. "Was that the prophecy?"I gulped.
