She didnt want to go out to see what it was, But her curiosity got the best of her. She quietly went to the coat stand and got her rain coat and an umbrella. She snuck out the front door. As she heard the cry again, She followed the sound. Soon, She was lost in some woods, not to far from her house. She was scared, for she had heard rumors of the bravest men going in there, And never coming out.
Suddenly, She heard a creepy laugh. She backed up and tripped over a log. She looked around, and what stood right infront of her, was a little girl. But, She didnt look alive. She looked dead, as if she were only just a ghost. Without thinking, Rowan grabbed her umbrella and hit the little girl with it. But she couldnt. It went right through her.

Rowan stared out the window at the dark, hollow night, watching the storm toss waves mercilessly across the white-sanded beach. She was supposed to be sleeping but the ceaseless crash of the thunder was keeping her awake- again. Standing up, she went to the window, holding back a bit, for lightning and glass could mean death. Suddenly a shrill cry split the night air. It reminded her of a child, languishing and moaning amongst the sobs of the storm. Wait. There it was again!
