There's a season two. There's just not a season three. When they introduced Uncle Ford, that's when it switched to season two, I'm pretty sure.

Before he dies, he recites this backwards, and I think it's to leave the people who figured out what he said questioning whether or not he'll come back. Therefore, there's no official answer as of whether or not he's coming back or if he's even alive.
