Harpocrates

Hello, I'm back again with another mythology skin! This is Harpocrates; the child god of secrets, silence, and confidentiality. Another thing associated with them is roses, so I added a ton with different meanings! They are a god that was worshiped first in Egypt as "The Child Horus" or Heru-pa-khered, which eventually became the name Harpocrates. They were not originally a god of secrets but a god of the rising sun. The reason why they are now seen as a god of secrets is because all their statues that were brought with their worshipers where posed with their finger to their mouth in a shushing motion. This to the Egyptians meant the physical motion for the word "child" in hieroglyphics. The Greeks mistook it for their motion for silence. He is associated with roses because Eros, child of Aphrodite, gave him roses to keeps his mothers affairs secret.

I myself like Harpocrates because of my fascination with cyphers and secret codes. If I didn't already have faith in the Abrahamic God, I might have followed them or some other Pagan god or spirit. I wanted to make a skin for them for a while but I never got to it; now I have!
Fun Fact: in the DSMP there was someone named after them.
