vampires: fugitives of the night, servant to no one, rulers over the forest.
... or so they used to be. now, the only vampire he knows, raphael- or as his "friends" call him, rafe- works a night time shift, and lives his life in nocturnal mode. he barely sleeps. during night, he works. stands there, sometimes walks laps. during day, he can't get a wink of rest. the sun shines through his windows, keeping him up. he spent all his extra money on windows that wouldn't let through the harmful part of sunlight that burned him. he could never remember what it was called. though.. in this literally endless cycle of misery, there was one good thing. his co-worker, who did the shift before him, was his.. friend. almost. they talked, when rafe got to the workplace early (as he always did, just to see her). and he.. liked her. as more than a friend. instead of saving up for blinds so he could sleep, he saved up so he could buy her flowers. maybe go get some food together. someday, maybe, they could be more than friends. if she could get past him being a vampire.
