TOXIFICATION

Ryder looked up at the collapsing tower. Moss grew where stretching tentacles and bristling ivy did not, but he didn’t care. He saw the book impaled on a piece of grass as sharp as a sword blade. Tentatively, he cut through the ivy and plants, then with more and more force as he came closer, eventually holding the book in his hands. As he was overwhelmed with joy, he looked up at the sky - now replaced by only a fleshy maw and millions of sharp teeth.
