Here's my entry for xXRioCatXx’s Undead contest!

Contest: https://www.minecraftskins.com/skin/23760910/2026-2-part-contest-/

Some of it will be in the comments so set it to oldest-newest :)

Sable Moors stood there unable to move in an open grave, the rain pelted down on her. She didn’t know why. But she saw visions of her past, her life was flashing before her eyes.

She was running down a path with her best friend Charlotte. She recognised this path. “No, I don't want to see this,” Sable thought. But the memory persisted.

Sable said that they should head down to the quarry. Charlotte was hesitant at first but she could never resist trying to find critters and fossils. “Please no,” Sable fell to her knees as mud started to fill the pit she was in.

In the quarry they ran around and looked at cool rocks and the imprints of creatures long past. Sable then wanted to start to climb a pile of large rocks that had been cemented there by time. Charlotte thought it might be dangerous but there was no stopping Sable from adventuring.

The mud was now up to her stomach, her eyes began to fill with tears. This was the day she died.

(Story continued)

Half way up the mound Sable’s foot got caught in a crack in the rocks.
“Ow!” She yelped.
“Are you okay?” Charlotte called.
“Yeah, I think I just got cut by a rock, I’ll come down,”
Little did she know she had just been bitten by a venomous snake.

Mud now nearly swallowed her shoulders, and the rain came down harder.

It was on the trail when they were headed home when Sable collapsed. The poison had gone untreated for nearly two hours.

“No!” Sable yelled as the mud rose up to her neck. Even the strongest storm was put to shame by her tears.

She saw visions of Charlotte sitting beside her in the hospital. Sable saw Charlotte and her mother at her funeral. Sable saw Charlotte there, through thick and thin.

“And I left her. I'm so sorry Charlotte.”

Suddenly something pulled Sable out of the mud.

“Don't be sorry, you never left me,”

Sable coughed up mud and stared at Charlotte in complete shock.

“How is this- Oh no! I'm so sorry it's over, did you at least have a happy life?”

“I did, but it would’ve been even happier with you. I should be the one apologising, I’m a year older, I should’ve checked the cut.”

“I’ve missed you, I’ve missed you every single day.” Sable pulled Charlotte into a huge bear hug.“Im so glad you finally here, I've been waiting.”

Their headstones were right next to each other, like they were every moment of their lives. Now in death they could still be together.

The End!
