first, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 1.8K
im like looking back and its insane how much ive grown from someone whose first skin looked utterly horrendous to well now

i did a qna about a year ago and may or may have not forgotten to answer the questions and i feel really bad about that so i thought id do one again
theres not really any rules just not anything too personal or i just wont answer

i don't expect many questions but feel free to ask me for recommendations or anything!

anyways big thank you to my bestie xxdancingwillowxx for this pixel art she is AMAZING and i miss her sm somebody please get her back on here
i should try to make pixel art someday hmmmm

also how do u use iPad it's like usin keyboard for hk
i dont use ipad for making skins that would be torture but i use it for minecraft

okay first things first dw im not a clanker ive been on here for four years lol
over time like my shading style has changed a lot but this is the one im settled on (keep in mind i didnt make this specific skin my friend did becuase pixel art is NOT my expertise)
to find diff hues to use i sort of make a diagonal with my pointer like this

and then play a round a bit until the colors look good together
colors like white and all skin tones are more difficult but reds and greens and blues and oragnes are a touch easier

if i want to do darker shade bottom one is the color i already have and top is the darker one
if i want lighter shade its vise versa
