Blacknose prodded Skypaw forward hard in the rump. "Go on, it's time for your assessment! Make sure you bring back something worth eating."
Skypaw rolled her eyes and trotted forward, towards Whiteheart and Shrewberry; Troutpaw's mentor.
Skypaw's fight with Rabbitpaw had made a very negative effect on her relationship with Blacknose. Now all he did was assume she would fail at everything, and he seemed to punish her in advance.
To make matters worse, Whiteheart was starting to doubt her as well. She still acted sweet, but Skypaw knew it was all a lie. Whiteheart was nice to everyone, and she was clearly making an effort not to lash out at Skypaw at every given moment. Skypaw still didn't understand why they were so disappointed in her; she was a good hunter, a good fighter.. she was just terrible socially.. not a good trait for Clan life.
Troutpaw bounded over after Skypaw, and sat down importantly in front of their mentors.
"Today is your assessment. You'll be sent out into our territory, and catch as much prey as possible. We'll be watching everything you do."
