Murder drones part3

As she approached the maintenance bay, she noticed a group of drones huddled around a vending machine, their eyes glued to the screen. It was a rare sight, as drones didn't usually interact in such a way unless it was for a shared purpose. Intrigued, she slowed her pace.

“Hey, what’s going on?” she asked, trying to sound casual despite the urgency of her situation.

One of the drones, a bulky one named Brick, turned to her with a flicker of surprise in his monochrome eyes. "Just checking the latest upgrade ads,” he replied, his voice a low rumble. “You know, the usual.”

Nuzi's stomach, or what served as one, churned with a strange sensation she had never felt before. “Upgrades?" she Ech0ed, trying to keep the tremor out of her voice. "I might need one too.”

The hunger grew to a crescendo, and before she could stop it, a guttural growl ec***d through the hallway. Her hand flew to her stomach, a look of horror crossing her face. The other drones turned to stare at her, their expressions a mix of confusion and fear. The sound was so unlike anything they had heard from one of their own, and the pain it caused her was unbearable.
