Our parents tell us that we won’t be able to appreciate the things we have until they’re gone.
We only ever know that we won’t see them again when we wake up and see them gone at dawn.
Years pass and we still can’t talk about them without crying out.
When someone mentions our lost pet, we freeze but our mind lets out a cry and shout.
Only after days, weeks, months and years are we able to talk about them without shedding tears.
Only after those years we’re still only to do so much, including pushing away those fears.
Once we get another pet, we don’t know how to feel, we feel like we’re replacing our lost pet.
However, eventually we understand it's okay to have more pets to love, and it’s just another journey that you have met.
You never realize how bad the sadness of losing someone dear to you is, until it’s too late.
As years went on, I felt like a pirate captain who had lost their first mate.
Moms, dads, sisters, brothers, grandparents and pets are all family we lose.
When little kid hear such things, they don’t understand, they don’t understand the news.
When we do arrive home and see that missing dog or cat, that’s when it hits us.
As time passes on we feel angry, upset, we want to cry and to make a fuss.
We feel so angry at the world, we want to punch, kick and scream because we’re in pain.
There's so much happening in our brains we feel so much we can’t contain, our cheeks have tears that have caused a stain.
Part 2 is in Reply)
The Life of Leaves
Up an ancient tree grows gems of reddish-purple hue,
The strings of jewels burst wide,
And baby leaves are put in view.
And in the summer, the merry breeze
Sets the full grown leaves to laughing and dancing,
Across the ancient trees.
But the Painter's brush dyes the leaves,
To a beautiful orange, red and yellow,
Until they fall softly to the ground, blown by the cruel autumn breeze.
And under the snow that lays untrodden,
In the depths of utter white,
They lay smothered, on the ground, forgotten.
No fear of death day by day
Life cannot exist without it
So we turn to imaginary screens
We live fun lives
Have conversations and joke
But it’s only a game
So they lose interest and depart
But you crave companionship heart and art
But the longer they stay the more they fade away
You do not need magic to feel immortal
The art will remain on the screen with the account forever
You will make new and old friends watching as the come and go
Your desire for imagination keeping you from leaving the scenes
Thank your friends for the memories
It’s only a game
But because it is you remain the same
Feeling immortal
I know I'm just a dog, But if you feel sad I'll be your smile. When you cry I'll be your comfort. And if someone breaks your heart, we can use mine to live I'll always be by your side.
You are not just a dog, You are my sanity. You are my happiness. You are my teacher. You are my therapist, and my best friend. I love you.
We wear the mask that grins and lies, It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes, This debt we pay to human guile; With torn and bleeding hearts we smile, And mouth with myriad subtleties. Why should the world be over-wise, In counting all our tears and sighs? Nay, let them only see us, while We wear the mask. We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries To thee from tortured souls arise. We sing, but oh the clay is vile Beneath our feet, and long the mile; But let the world dream otherwise, We wear the mask.
