He also starred in numerous films, portraying a heroic character fighting against evil, and maintained his masked persona in public to preserve the mystique. His influence in Mexican pop culture and professional wrestling remains significant, and he is celebrated as one of the sport's greatest legends. Blue Demon passed away on December 16, 2000.
