I normally put a mask over my skins to edit the colors and make them look more rustic but I liked this too much to get rid of it :>

I use an art program called Krita. I use it to draw and photoshop things like this! Occasionally, I do some pixel art on it as well. :)
I dulled the colors by adding a layer with a warm gray (#916e6d), set it on 50% layer opacity, and color mode. You can set the way a layer reacts with the ones bellow it in it's folder by setting its "mode". In Krita, this option lays just above the layers docker.

Though I'm sure you could do this in pretty much any other art program. No promises it's going to have the same exact results.
