a vent sorta

i have a friend on roblox and im trying to make him feel better but everything i say just makes him feel worse.... one of his other friends named tigerblossom made a bunch of his other friends hate him and i want to make him feel better but i don't know how so i just end up saying okay or oh when he talks about what has been going on and nothing else....ive been talking to him on my alt roblox account and i said try talking about happy stuff and not just all the bad stuff/still talk about the bad stuff but also talk about the good stuff that has happened, and that only made him more upset.... i don't know what to do...he's one of the only friends i have on roblox that actually talks to me....
