Hi. For those of you who don't know I am a huge fan of fantasy books and I love reading them so I decided to wright my own. Lately I haven't been doing much because I have writers block with this certain spot. If you want to feel free to read it but when you get done, PLEASE send me some ideas on what I should do next for my book.

Keep in mind that I'm not a book expert in any way- but I think the pacing you have is good and you've set up a short or medium-length conversation explaining what an Alter is (maybe addressing in some way Reagan's powers) as well as a summary to what the void is (I might just be slow but I can't tell if the void is a material, sentient being or both) basically just background information to help the reader understand the setting and main characters a bit better? Hope this helps, sorry for lengthy response
