I was diagnosed with type one diabetes and have been living with it for 5 years. How exactly? Well....

So what is diabetes exactly?

so type 1 diabetes is when your pancreas doesn't make insulin or makes very little insulin. Insulin helps blood sugar enter the cells in your body for use as energy. Without insulin, blood sugar can't get into cells and builds up in the bloodstream. High and low blood sugars happen all the time, and too high or too low blood levels are fatal. (i've had like 2 close calls ;-;) in order to eat, you must count your meal's total carbohydrate (carb) amount in order to dose the correct amount of insulin. Then once youve figured that out, you stab yourself with a needle filled with insulin and then you can eat. Fun, am i right?? ;-; So, thanks for reading, this is probably a lot for yall but i have so much appreciation for all of u guys :) Sorry to bore you lol <3
