The fact that I put "war" instead of "wars" on chapter 2 hurts me.
This is CHAPTER THREE of my custom story: "Distant Wars"!
This story is of two lovers who were separated by war. Short, yet heartbreaking. Their town, Syrrenia was fought over by two opposing sides - Osarlyum and Milington - of which it was divided, both kingdoms being given exactly fifty percent of the town each. Our main characters - Kai and Rosaline - were forced to be separated because of this division, and consequently, had to go face-to-face in battle.
The story will be in the comments, sort them by oldest.
Enjoy :D

"I'll do it." I whispered.
"Wonderful." She said, and gave me a purple bandana.
"What's this for?" I sniveled.
"It's to show your ranking, and that you are one of us. Tie it to your person, and make sure that it is strapped well."
A few moments passed, until the guard who had been with us throughout the conversation and Lady Eliza eventually walked away, leaving me alone.
I tied the purple material around my wrist, double knotting it proving my commitment, and fell to my knees, crying.
"But I had my freedom before all this." I snarled.
"Excuse me, young lady, I am offering you a huge chance to have your life rotated from all the others' here. Do not challenge me on my words; you either take the offer, or suffer like the rest of them."
Could I do it? Could I really betray the one person still alive I had known for my whole, entire life all for my own personal gain? Of everything he'd done for me, was it really suitable for me to fail Kai? It was such a difficult decision: it was either become the enemy, or rot and die.
I knew what choice to make. I had to make the right choice.
I took Lady Eliza by the hand...
"Well, we did have a great relationship." I sighed.
"Wonderful." Lady Eliza smiled. "Rosaline Bluestone, how would you like to be our personal spy? You will be granted many riches, and we will set you free from this land forever if you are to succeed in this mission."
"But, what if I don't succeed?"
The guard, pointing his spear at me, yielded.
"Might you be Rosaline Bluestone?" She asked.
"Why, yes." To which I replied.
"Hah, you're lucky; if we weren't in dire need of your assistance, you would be in the slammers."
"What do you need my assistance for?" I inquired.
"Well, let us just say that the Osarlies have gotten their hands on potentially some of the best warriors in all the lands, one of which, you happen to know."
"What?"
"Kai Rodgers: claimed to be one of (if not the!) best warriors recorded in the Syrrenian books. With an incredible kill record, great teamwork, confidence, skill, and very little wounds from war."
"R-really?"
"Please don't hurt me," I begged, "I-I... I didn't mean to lose it! I swear!"
"Tch!" the guard laughed, "hurt you? Well of course we wouldn't hurt you!"
"You... you wouldn't?"
"Well not directly," he said, "we'd just throw in the dungeon like we do with all our convicts!"
"No!" I cried.
"Is there trouble, good guard?" challenged the mighty Lady Eliza, "who might this be, sobbing on the floor?"
"Oh, nothing your highness," the guard said, "it's just, here we have a lady without a scarf!"
I sniffed, standing my self up and patting down my clothes.
"Please don't punish me so unfairly." I plead with.
"There are banners across the courtyard with numbers on them. Please find the one with your number labelled on it, and begin to your location. You will be assigned your roles and what tasks you will be doing here."
I needed to find a scarf and fast! If imprisonment were for people shouting out during a high-ranking person's speech, who knew what would be in store for my punishment!? I scavenged the floor, looking through the movement of peoples legs, hoping to find a dash of red anywhere: even if it weren't a scarf!
The courtyard began to empty, and I still hadn't found anything. I was going to be seen lost and without a scarf, hence in so much trouble!
Eliza laughed. "Coming onto my first point - we do not tolerate peoples refusal nor disrespect. Guards, seize that man if you will." She pointed at his location, as the guards surrounding us on the lower floor proceeded to drag him away and throw him into a jail-cart.
"As you can see, this is how we deal with our trouble-makers here," she continued, "immediate imprisonment, and if any worse than what you just saw, immediate execution."
The crowd mumbled at her words, until she screamed at us all to be silent.
"I do not want any bad mouths here," she yelled, "and I certainly do not want any gossipers! Now, on that note, you should all have a number on your scarves I see you are all still wearing. Appreciated." She smiled.
Oh no! I was unsure on what the...
As I was released from my chamber alongside two elderly gentlemen and a mother who was mourning the absence of her child, I was greeted by a castle, grander than anyone could ever have imagined. Its spires towered through the cold grey clouds, with menacing, violent spikes at the top; its walls were jet black, perfectly contrasted by its pink-ish red windows. Emerging from the highest balcony at the front of the castle was the tyrant herself: Lady Eliza.
"Greetings," she said, "I welcome you to our powerful and unconquerable kingdom, Milington!"
Two guards walked up behind her, as she resumed her speech.
"You may be disappointed at what we have accomplished, considering that we have just separated you from your loved ones.
"DARN STRAIGHT!" A man...
