A Poet's Constitution

Sometimes I think of my life as a trick

so when I try to do what most would the burden hits like a heavy brick

sometimes I think of myself as the fool

pushing yourself past the limit as if I'm my own tool

Sometimes I feel like a burden

pulling everyone down as I harden

frequently I wish I could turn to dust

cause I'm seeming to lose my own trust

Constantly I've felt pained

thinking of what it is that I could have gained

yet all it seems as if a lump in my throat

cause when I try to confess I feel as if I will nearly choke

when I tell my family they take it as a joke

so hard they begin to laugh

the couldn't ever believe it not even half

I try to be as they like

but yet my tears seem to never take strike

and so it hurts

my heart splits into parts

though I can not seem to care

It seems I'll never find a solution

so this will stay ..
