corrupted diamond

an adventurer was mining and came across a highly toxic stereoisometric vein of diamond. These diamonds glowed in a bright teal hue which enticed the adventurer, but upon breaking the ore the diamonds attached themselves to the adventurer, morphing with his DNA to corrupt him. This thankfully didn't kill him but left his body deeply scarred with diamonds. The diamonds are rock hard to the touch but don't restrict the adventurers movement and behave the same as skin. The adventurer isn't contagious and has earned an almost mythic status with anyone he comes across on his travels, as they believe him to simply be an illusion. He has earned the name 'Adamas the unbreakable' due to his increased durability (adamas is the latin word for diamond, an ancient language from his time' and he's existed for so long that people have forgotten what his name used to be, and maybe he has too.... His nickname is sometimes abbreviated to Adam which he seems to go by. Fitting as a man seemingly as old as time itself is named after the first man.
