Flerida

She is one of the supporting characters of the "awit" or narrative poem titled "Florante at Laura" by Francisco Balagtas". Flerida is a princess of the Kingdom of Krotona who was kidnapped by Sultan Ali-Adab, the ruler of the neighboring kingdom of Persia. She was captive in the Sultan's palace for many years, but she eventually escaped with the help of her friend Menandro. They travelled to Albania, where they met Aladin, who was exiled from his own kingdom. Aladin and Flerida feel in love and eventually got married. Flerida is brave, resourceful, and a selfless woman who is willing to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her people. She is a symbol of hope and resilience, and she is an inspiration not only to readers but to newer generation as well.
