Special Operation Unit 2

The Republic of Korea Police Special Operations Unit, abbreviated SOU, is a police special unit subordinate to the Republic of Korea National Police Agency, such as HRT or SWAT[2] in the United States, GSG-9 in Germany, RAID in France, BOPE in Brazil, and SAT in Japan. In accordance with Article 18 of the Enforcement Decree of the Anti-Terrorism Act for Public Safety and Public Safety, it is a nationally designated anti-terrorism special force of the Korean military and police that performs duties at the forefront of the national counter-terrorism system. Its missions include armed suppression and law enforcement of special serious crimes such as domestic terrorism incidents and shootings and hostage takings in Korea, search and disposal of explosives related to terrorism incidents, prevention and deterrence activities of terrorist incidents, guarding key personnel, and safety of important national events. Support activities, lifesaving activities in the event of an emergency such as various disasters, etc.
