This is for SuperMario64201's Videogames contest! In case you don't who this is This is Darkspine Sonic for Sonic and The Secret Rings. He gains this form during the last boss of the game and is caused by the World Rings of Hatred, Sadness and Rage. He is alot more powerful than base Sonic is slightly a bit more aggressive too.
