trains don't run on schedule in general, most of them are freight trains classified by their number and sometimes with an "X" before the number standing for "Extra", as in an extra train not on schedule, example "X4449". Scheduled trains usually have a specific name or number, or the number of the locomotive pulling it. Sometimes passenger trains are considered "Extra", but usually they have a set schedule called a "Timetable", so ig technically the quote isn't wrong, but proportionally to how many trains run on a railroad, it's a teeny bit strange
