She left the cloud as quick as she had entered, survyeing the incoming landscape. Between herself and the north foot of the bridge lay a wide, smooth river delta. The river ****trated deep into the heart of the desert, providing an essential source of water for life to prosper.

Raxem rapidly passed the lush forest atop the bridge, now falling beside the northern leg of the immense causeway. She found herself rushing towards a patch of floating vines, their pale green fingers tinted yellow orange by a stray beam of light sneaking beneath the arch.

She remembered how much she loved those vines. She remembered when they would march across the sky, blessing the great pillars with radiant halos of green and gold, clouds of weaver swallows glittering in the wind like the numerous tiny stars of ancient myth. She remembered. She remembered when her father would take her to visit the Bronze Canyon, its cliffs gilded with the twisting patterns; lofts of green floating in the great ravine, high above the ground yet somehow still below the rim of the canyon; swallows swooping and diving in unison, the flocks undulating together like the beat of shimmering waves on a copper-colored shore.
