SA - Lesson One (Shading)

Today we will be learning how to shade!

Okay, so FYI I used hue-shifting for the shading and colors, but you will not be learning that today. If you already know how to hue-shift, you can use that type of shading or another type shading.

As you can see on the front of the skin I have a skin base, used for shading and all.

As you might of noticed I used darker colors when the body parts met. When a body part connects with another, (like hands and arms) you do not shade it, you just leave it alone as they are not separate. However, when body parts don't connect to each other, like the legs, you put shading in-between them where a shadow would be. If it helps, you can look up anatomy or you could look at your own body and where shadows are.

Now, for the back.

In the back I have a very simple clothes base.

I used a bit too much shading for it, but I think it turned out alright!

Anyways, I used ruffles and folds in the shirt and I shaded under them, where shadows might be in the shirt. As you can see again, where the legs meet in the pants, there is shading between each leg.
