Creepers are said to be a species created by the ancient builders (the players' ancestors) to guard their treasure against enemies. The ancient builders who worshiped cats made sure the creepers feared and revered them. The ancient builders place TNT inside of the creeper's stomach. Since the creepers are not made of natural components they do not have a conscience but they do have a brain which means they are great for suicide missions.


REAL LIFE LORE: Have you ever wondered where Mojang got the idea for a creeper? well, when Jeb was first coding the game he started to make a pig. when he did the torso it accidentally got flipped! Then instead of changing it, he thought it was a great idea for a new monster so he worked on coloring the creeper and giving it a name... can you imagine if he never recolored it and just kept it looking like a pig? honestly, that would be even scarier.
