September first, 2035.

Dear Diary,

Hi, My name is Winston. I am writing this for the purpose of keeping me company. Nowhere is safe. Anywhere where there would be animals there will be sculk monsters. It's been 2 years since I had to flee my home in Kansas due to the large amount of groundhogs being corrupted into sculk monsters all over the eastern side of the state, flooding cities, killing people. It was the middle of the night when they came into our town. My parents weren't lucky enough to get out of the town before everyone was turned into large, blind, hideous monsters. My parents' screams signaled to the creatures where they were. It was like an infection. I was terrified. People were calling them "sculk" creatures. It was like a video game. Nothing seemed real. All I had to do was stay silent and somehow make it out alive. It took a day to get out of the town and out into the fields. The animals there weren't yet infected. I wandered forever. I have to stop writing for the day, I can hear the sculk spiders screeching. I fear I'm the last "living" creature.
