Light Steve had to manually kill dark Steve because the Steve that was dark Steve was fully absorbed by reverse Steve by the merge that created chaos Steve so when dark Steve was destroyed he infected a new host at the last second, but cause most of his energy was destroyed due to light steve, hes only parshally dark, but not dark enough to be dark steve so hes just a mere shadow of dark steve, Shadow Steve.
