Before Greief was corrupted, he was an engineer, you all know this. But what you guys didn't know was that he worked at a local potion brewery. They were kinda like subways but for potions. But smaller. Yeah it was boring there. This explains Greief's love for potions. He carries a special bottle with a green ribbon now.
