Dovefeather led the way up the first portion of Highstones, with was still a little grassy and not even windy. Tigertail held up great, but Echopaw lagged a bit behind. Burntsoul, on the other hand, was still recovering from his debate with Owlpenny and how he’d nearly slipped and called her a terrible MATE, which Dovefeather already knew, but the others didn’t.
After that, Echopaw was in front and gained his energy after drinking the cold mountain water and catching a fat hare that they’d all shared. It was getting cold, and Dovefeather had them stop near the top of the second peak as the sun set, asking, “how do we know where Sharptooth will be?” As they all pondered, a shadow fell over theirs and a voice called, “you’ve come to the right place. Sharptooth is close.”
