Mei lifted her eyelids, slamming them back down when she saw the color red.
Don’t let that be blood, she thought desperately, than opened them again and let her shoulders relax when she saw a long red vine, then tensed and leapt to her feet from realization she wasn’t in camp, collapsing from the head rush.
Seeing Shadowleaf beside her, she tensed and tried to open her mouth, her eyes widening when she felt a metal muzzle clamped tight around her mouth. Letting out a muffled shriek, she twisted and clawed, bumping into a sharp rock and wincing when she drew blood, searching for any sign of cobwebs.
“Doing alright?” A familiar voice asked, and Mei whipped around, seeing Chie’s grin suddenly vanish as his eyes widened. “They- put a muzzle on you?” Not finding the strength to nod, Mei bristled and sat protectively in front of Shadowleaf, who stirred. I can’t believe he’d let them do this, she thought.
