The meeting with Mei takes place at the very beginning of the first act, after defeating Shin. She asks the protagonist to become his gunsmith, which is impossible to refuse (which is not surprising, since Mei plays an exceptional role in the plot), after which she explains the rules of the Tournament, Survival and Duel to the player. In subsequent classic acts, Mei plays the role of a positive, extremely emotional companion, becoming a counterbalance to Sensei's instructive and cold remarks.
