“ahfjakfhwowhfkakkahqj” (you may comment now)

hahHbabHbaha don’t we just love cliffhangers though?
lol oop-

anyways yes, I know this chapter was pretty confusing. Dw though, we’ll get to see and learn more of this ‘AJ E. Grayson’ character as the story progresses. Same with Eleri as well.
I mean, after all, this is only chapter 5 of (insert_a_good_number_of_chapters_here) in this story, so everything’s mostly happening at a pretty fast pace, which makes it all really confusing as well.

anyyyways do y’all notice the extreme change in words in this chapter. half of it is from a month ago, and the other half is from yesterday/today.

okay this comment is getting pretty long but yeah I’m done here-
I could see Trevor clenching his teeth, then he looked over at Frey and I. A moment later, he turned to look back at everyone else
“Trevor, what’s wrong?” I asked the blonde-haired boy. He looked at me again for another second, and then his gaze shifted to the window near the door. I stood up and walked over to the window. Frey came over also to peer outside. But what we saw was unbelievable.
In response, I only said a few words.
“I..what is that?”
“Y-yeah..j-just thinking about..stuff..” I said.
“That’s alright. As long as I know you’re okay, then I’m okay.”
I heard loud footsteps in the room so I looked up and Trevor was running to the door with a gun in his right hand. He swung the door open to take a quick glance outside, then shut the door again. This time, he locked it.
“Uh..” Trevor turned to face all of us.
“Is something the matter?” a woman said. She appeared to be in her late 40s.
Maybe I did truly see a ghost, I’ll need more information to be certain. In the meantime, I’ll keep ‘AJ E. Grayson’ locked in my mind and watch out for him in case he ever shows up again.
Several hours had already gone by sitting inside that place. I remained sitting in the corner, thinking about the girl--Eleri--and that strange man.
“AJ E. Grayson..” I continuously muttered under my breath. The more I spoke his name, the more I began to grow curious about him. I do not recognize the name, but should I? Still lost in thought, Frey came over to sit next to me.
“Hey, Aeryn..you okay? You seem to be blanking out again..”
I came back to the real world again and looked over at Frey.
I blinked once and the strange man was no longer there anymore. I silently gasped, and then rubbed my eyes. I looked outside and the girl was nowhere to be found.
“Aeryn! Aeryn, you alright?!”
I returned to reality and Frey and Trevor were standing behind me.
“Frey? Trevor..?”
“Yes, it’s us! Are you okay, Aeryn?!” Frey asked me, concerningly. “Like, why do you keep looking outside and up in the air like you just saw a ghost?”
I thought it was Trevor at first, but this was a much older-sounding voice. I wanted to know who but I was too scared to turn around. But I needed to brace this fear so I turned my neck just enough to see a man with shaggy brown hair, a white eyepatch over his right eye, and bandages wrapped around his left arm. I also briefly saw a small, silver name tag hanging out of his front coat pocket, in which the name ‘AJ E. Grayson’ was carved into it.
“Leave her..” he repeated once more.
“How old are you, Eleri?” I asked the young girl shortly after Trevor left to get himself a cup of water.
“F-fourteen..”
The young girl searched around the room, most likely for an exit. I could tell she didn’t want to be here anymore, so she was planning on making a run for it at some point. Her eyes met mine and locked until a glass was knocked off of the counter and broke into dozens of glass shards on the old wooden flooring. I averted my gaze to the mess and the girl made her run to the door. When I turned back and saw what she was doing, I chased after her to be halted by a gun at the front of my neck. The girl was gone too.
“Leave her..”
