velvet forest
was a place where
gentle giants strolled slowly
and silently so I hardly noticed them
and I could climb the furry trees
curled like fiddleheads
but without the music

the very pinnicles
were crowned with stars
but all the doves were sleeping

the fungi constructed their
moldering shelves very industrially
on the bark
and let the drowsy fairies
take a rest
but let me go
