OHH okay
The cliffhanger goes into the next chapter where it will be explained more in depth, so hopefully by the next chapter it should start to make a little bit more sense.
what are you confused about-

but understandable if it’s confusing and you hate it, I hate this thing too and this story is still cringe.
“these are words because I cannot think of what to put here this time.” (you may comment now)

hehe yes another cliffhanger lol

Short comment here because I gotta leave my house in 10 minutes.
Soon after, Trevor walked over to us and squatted down as well. He brushed the bangs out of the girl’s eye and read the number. His face went into total shock, widened eyes and everything. He backed up a foot or two.
“How..” he began, shocked, “how did you escape..”
“Thank you, Aeryn..” He smiled as he looked down. “You’re a good friend..” He reached over to hug me and I hugged him back.
There was a point when I looked over my shoulder to see some of the other people that were here as well. Frey already left me to use the restroom. There was a girl wrapped up in her blankets. I stood up and walked towards her. I squatted down on the floor and in her right eye was a number transplanted into it.
4766.
I wondered what this number meant, if anything. She looked at me with her frightened, lightly-colored purple eyes. I reached to pull the blanket off of her head, but she backed up into the wall behind her.
“You two will be safe here.” Trevor told Frey and I. The boy walked over to a corner and handed two old, torn-up blankets to us. “Sorry, they’re all I have left.”
“It’s fine, better than nothing at least.” I said.
Frey and I walked over to an empty corner of the room and we sat down.
“How are we going to get home now?” Frey whispered. “If I’m not back soon, my family is going to get worried.”
“It’s alright, Frey.” I reassured him. “I’ll help you get home.”
“Uh, alrighty then..” Frey stood there awkwardly. “Anyyways, my name is Frey and-” he gestured to me, “-this is Aeryn, my friend.
“Trevor. Trevor Warren. Come with me where you two will be safe.” He put one of his guns away in his pocket, and kept the other one out for protection. He motioned for us to follow him out, so we did.
Trevor took us into an old, seemingly-abandoned town. He led us inside of one of the buildings and we were faced with a crowd of twenty or so others.
“*The Middlegrounds*.” he only said to begin with. “I needed to make sure neither of you were here to take more of us hostage and make us suffer.”
“What’s the Middlegrounds?” I asked.
“The largest corrupted prison wasteland on New Earth. They’re always finding ways to get here since Pasttown is the closest of the three towns to there. They want power and full control, and will do everything it takes to get just that, such as murder. They are currently drilling a hole not too far from here.”
So we’re in Pasttown now, and creatures from the Middlegrounds are coming to slaughter all of us. That is just wonderful news.
“Um, hey..can you please explain to us what that was for?” Frey asked the stranger. In a split second, he grabbed his gun again and held it at Frey’s neck.
“Don’t speak. I know your plans.”
“What plans?!”
The stranger walked over to Frey and grabbed his right arm. He looked down at the arm, while he had his gun at Frey’s neck. The boy turned his arm over, and then let it fall. He aimed that gun at my neck now. He reached for my right arm and rolled my sleeve up. He dropped that as well.
