When Mabel was young, she was involved in an accident with a Loomian. This caused her mother to believe that she was too weak and unfit for Loomian battling, and did not allow her to train any Loomians. At some point in her childhood, she became best friends with Lucy and Lucas. Mabel was soon sent off by her mother to a Loomian school at Cheshma Town, Mabel believes this is because her mother thought it was not worth her time to teach Mabel herself.
