the moment dark is created, orange steve, enraged, charges at nightmare, sabre desperately trying to stop him, not wanting to lose another friend. dark sees this chaos as an opportunity, leaving behind an illusion of an unstable, failed experiment. he heads to the lab, and absorbs all the condensed darkness and failed dark steve experiments. obviously, this would’ve made him quite unstable if he didn’t have a free will of his own, because he didn’t really have any. but now; the darkness overpowered the two steves. since all this darkness was ac***ulating inside his soul, something similar to what happened with soul and corruption happens. an evolved, hive mind of darkness is controlling dark. a reflection of voids own emotions. since void was skilled in the art of deception, dark steve is obviously quite smart, and knows more about the darkness.

he heads outside, disguises himself as a yellow and warns everyone of what’s going on in the castle, only to teleport back in and kill nightmare before sabre and rainbow could teleport with him, to imprison him. Then, the darkness sieges the kingdom, leaving the yellow steves only one choice. To head inside..
