Cardinal

This bright red bird is so popular that it’s the state bird in seven states! Cardinals are usually found in our backyards and can be seen eating seeds, fruits, grains, insects, and sap.
Cardinals are songbirds so they sing a variety of songs. Only the male Cardinals sports the bright red feathers, while females are a gray color. Cardinals are also very friendly and tend to join large flocks of birds, even flocks with other species.
Did you know that there is actually such thing as a male/female Cardinal? How about a yellow cardinal?
