Grover has remained a major character on Sesame Street for over 50 years, first appearing in season 1 as one of Henson's utility monsters, but as the season closed, he was given his name, and by season 2, he became the adorable, furry old Grover we've come to know and love! Originally performed by Frank Oz, Eric Jacobson has taken over the role.
