Michael Collins was the pilot of the Apollo 11 command module Columbia that orbited the moon in 1969. His crewmates Neil Armstrong and Edwin Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin landed as the first men to walk on the moon's surface. At the age of 90, Collins peacefully passed away on April 28, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
