i think the best way to understand shading is to see how other people make their shading styles first, some are more simple so it might be best to learn from simple shading first before you make it more complicated :) don't straight up copy though, just get inspired/learn from their methods as your first step

there's too much for me to go over in just one comment so I recommend looking at ElvenJedi's tutorials on youtube!!

OMG NO THEY'RE FAR FROM PERFECT but tysm :')) i use pmc editor instead of skindex editor though, that may have helped me choose better colors because my old skins were wayyy too pale/pastel and lacking nice colors x_x
