Faceless Steve

Steve was a simple man who lived a life of farming and mining. He lived in a small shack on a hill, surrounded by a small wheat field he'd planted himself. Steve had run low on coal, and winter was fast approaching. So, in desperation, he bore his armor, took his trusty sword and pickaxe, and plunged deep into the mines, searching for more coal. He searched and searched, but found nothing. All he found were winding tunnels and walls of stone. Not a single patch of ore. Not a single monster stood in his way. Returning to whence he came, he realized he could not find his way out. Steve had become lost in the caves, which seemed to warp and change with every turn he made. This continued until it eventually became too much for poor Steve to bear, and he died in those caves, starving to death. But even in death, he found no salvation. Doomed to wander the caves, he stalks the underground, waiting for some poor, unfortunate miner to step too far into the darkness, so he may snatch them up, and use their body to return to his homestead.
